Norris Charges Through Chaotic Zandvoort to Seal Second Win of 2026

Lando Norris made it back-to-back victories at the Dutch Grand Prix, clinching his second win of the 2026 season in a thriller at Zandvoort. The reigning World Champion started from pole position and despite some intense pressure throughout the race, managed to secure the top spot ahead of a recovering Kimi Antonelli in second. It's a fitting end to the circuit's F1 history, with this being the final Dutch Grand Prix ever held at the iconic venue.

The race absolutely went off the rails in the middle stages. A virtual safety car was triggered when Esteban Ocon retired, shaking up the entire field and forcing multiple teams into unexpected pit strategy calls. Norris was brilliant on the restart though, making a gutsy overtake on the outside at Tarzan corner to pass both Antonelli and Lewis Hamilton in quick succession. That move essentially sealed the deal for the McLaren driver.

Behind Norris, it was drama central at Mercedes and Ferrari. George Russell managed to hold on for third place, though the team's strategy of asking him to let Antonelli through didn't sit well with everyone. Meanwhile, Hamilton was absolutely flying in the latter stages with fresher rubber, pushing hard to get back on the podium. Charles Leclerc followed home fourth as Ferrari's day never really came together despite some strong moments.

The race saw plenty of retirements, including Valtteri Bottas calling it a day at Cadillac and Lance Stroll also not making it to the finish. But it was the intensity between the frontrunners that made this one special. With Antonelli's points haul here, he continues to make serious gains in the championship battle, proving he's very much in the mix for the title. This final Dutch Grand Prix will definitely be remembered for the drama and some truly quality racing at the front.

Fernando Alonso and Pierre Gasly rounded out the points, with Alonso taking P9 for two points and Gasly claiming tenth for one. It's another solid day for Norris and McLaren's championship credentials heading into the business end of the season, though Hamilton and Ferrari will be kicking themselves about what might have been.
