Charles Leclerc's Italian Grand Prix turned into an absolute nightmare, and it didn't just wreck his own race. The drama kicked off right at Turn 1 when Hamilton went for an aggressive move on the inside of Leclerc. That forced the Ferrari number one to take a tighter line into Turn 2, but there just wasn't enough room, and Hamilton ended up in the gravel trap, dropping from fourth all the way to tenth. Things only got worse from there. Leclerc lost control of his car just two laps later on the exit of Parabolica, crashed into the barrier, and triggered a red flag that brought the whole race to a halt.

When the dust settled, reporters were quick to bring up the whole teamwork question in the media pen. Leclerc didn't hold back when pushing back against the idea that he and Hamilton aren't working together. He told select media that he's not sure who's been pushing this narrative that they're against each other. The 26-year-old acknowledged there'd been way too much talk about it even before Monza, but he was honest that what happened at the opening corners wasn't the greatest look for either of them.

Leclerc explained his side of things pretty straightforwardly. He said he tried to take the tightest possible line through Turn 2 after Hamilton's move in Turn 1, but it simply wasn't enough space for both of them. He admitted that pulling off a move like that at Monza, of all places, wasn't the smartest decision. The Ferrari driver seems frustrated that every bit of on-track action between him and Lewis is getting dissected as evidence they can't work together, when in reality it was just a racing incident that went badly wrong.
