Kimi Antonelli just delivered one of the most impressive performances we've seen in ages, storming from 19th on the grid to absolutely demolish the field and take the checkered flag. The Italian kid equaled the second-best comeback in F1 history, matching Bill Vukovich's effort from the 1954 Indianapolis 500. For good measure, he also became the first Italian to win at Monza in 60 years. Yeah, you read that right. The records just keep piling up for this lad.

The race got absolutely mental early on when Charles Leclerc went flying off at the Parabolica with no contact and triggered a red flag on lap two. That basically reset everything, but Antonelli was already making moves, climbing to 13th before the chaos. George Russell had taken the lead from pole-sitter Pierre Gasly, who simply couldn't hang with the pace up front despite a strong early battle. Once the action resumed, Antonelli stalked both Mercedes cars and Max Verstappen relentlessly. The reigning championship leader was clearly the fastest guy out there, and he just kept picking them off one by one.

Strategy played the decisive role when Lance Stroll's retirement brought out a virtual safety car on lap 29. Antonelli and Verstappen both jumped in for fresh rubber and rejoined near the front. The championship leader got a bit too ambitious on lap 49 and ran into the gravel at the first chicane, but he dusted himself off and nailed the pass on Russell the very next lap. From there it was cruise control to the finish line.

It was a nightmare for Gasly and Alpine though. Despite starting from pole, the Frenchman could only scrape together seventh place. Franco Colapinto grabbed ninth for the team's second point, but he should've finished higher after a brilliant early run that saw him fourth before the red flag. He lost it at the Lesmo corner on the restart and went backwards quick. Russell held on for second ahead of Verstappen, while Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri delivered McLaren fourth and fifth after an intense battle down the final laps. Lewis Hamilton managed sixth.

Racing Bulls had a solid day with Arvid Lindblad taking eighth and Yuki Tsunoda grabbing tenth. Nobody else scored points, including Audi and Liam Lawson, who had his race ruined by contact with Nico Hulkenberg at the start. It's been a rough couple of rounds for the Red Bull reserve driver. Aston Martin completely blanked with two retirements, while Haas couldn't convert a promising start into points.
