Verstappen Dominates Singapore Grand Prix for Second Win of 2026 Season

Max Verstappen absolutely owned the 2026 Singapore Grand Prix, converting his maiden pole position at Marina Bay into a commanding victory. The Red Bull driver didn't just get it done off the line, he cruised to a 7.3-second win over Charles Leclerc's Ferrari, picking up his second triumph of the season. It's mad to think Max had never managed pole position in Singapore before this weekend, but once he got his first one on Saturday, he backed it up with both a sprint victory and the grand prix win to complete the perfect Marina Bay performance.

Leclerc pushed hard in the closing stages of the race, armed with fresh soft tyres while Verstappen was managing his mediums. The Monegasque driver closed the gap but couldn't quite find a way through, ultimately settling for second place and keeping the pressure on in what's shaping up to be a thrilling title fight. Mercedes' Andrea Kimi Antonelli rounded out the podium in third, which is massive news for his championship prospects heading to Austin.

The real talking point away from the top three is just how close Antonelli now sits to winning the world title. George Russell's engine penalty forced him to start 19th and finish ninth, which means Antonelli heads to the United States Grand Prix with a genuine shot at clinching the championship. That's huge for Mercedes and shows how brutal this championship battle really is this year.

Hamilton's race was hampered by poor strategy decisions, something he admitted afterward and apologized for. Liam Lawson took seventh in the Racing Bulls, Nico Hulkenberg was eighth for Audi, and Isack Hadjar somehow scraped his way up from the pitlane to tenth place in the other Red Bull.
