Singapore Power Rankings: Max's Perfect Weekend and Kimi's Title Push

Max Verstappen absolutely dominated Singapore last weekend, and the Formula 1 Power Rankings panel didn't hold back in giving him top marks. The Red Bull driver finally got his Marina Bay monkey off his back at the tenth attempt, and he did it in style. Our five-judge panel scored his performance out of ten across Sprint Qualifying, the Sprint race, main Qualifying, and the Grand Prix itself, and they all agreed it was a masterclass from start to finish. Verstappen made the most of Red Bull's recent updates that delivered a first 2026 win at Sepang the week before, and at Singapore he was simply unstoppable.

The Singapore Power Rankings tell the story of who really shone around the tight Marina Bay street circuit. Charles Leclerc put in a strong showing for Ferrari, qualifying second behind Verstappen and pushing the Dutch star hard in the early laps before ultimately settling for second place. Kimi Antonelli had a trickier weekend with Mercedes' new updates, but the Italian showed real progress through the weekend and grabbed a podium finish that puts him on the brink of securing the 2026 championship title. Liam Lawson impressed with his consistent pace at Racing Bulls, making the most of Q3 and double points while fighting to keep his seat as young talent knocks on the door.

Further down the grid, several drivers caught the judges' attention with solid performances. Nico Hulkenberg got rewarded for his consistent efforts, bagging points in both the Sprint and the Grand Prix with an eighth place finish, keeping Mercedes' George Russell behind him. Ollie Bearman led the Haas charge under the Marina Bay lights, beating out team mate Estabon Ocon and showing off some brilliant midfield racecraft to grab sixth in the Sprint. Pierre Gasly once again impressed with his qualifying pace, dragging Alpine into Q3, though he came agonisingly close to points in both races.

Lewis Hamilton had what could've been a very different story at Singapore. The seven-time world champion looked set for a podium after starting on the less favourable medium tyres, but his decision to manage his own strategy cost him dear. While team mate Leclerc pitted under a Virtual Safety Car for fresh rubber, Hamilton stayed out on his softs and ended up crossing the line sixth instead of third. He apologised after the race for taking matters into his own hands and admitted far more was possible given the raw pace on display. Oscar Piastri had his own frustrations at McLaren when a late-race puncture hampered his Grand Prix, while a Sprint collision with Lando Norris complicated his weekend early on.
