Leclerc Demands More: Ferrari's Updates Still Not Cutting It

Charles Leclerc is making it crystal clear to Ferrari that incremental upgrades simply aren't going to cut it if they want to fight Max Verstappen and the rest of the grid. Fresh off a solid Singapore weekend that saw him grab second place behind Verstappen in the main race, the Monegasque driver is already pushing his team to dig deeper and bring more substantial changes to the car before the season winds down.

During the Singapore Grand Prix weekend, Ferrari did introduce some new parts to their machine, and Leclerc acknowledged they helped the team take a small step forward. But he's not satisfied with baby steps anymore. In his post-race comments, Leclerc made his position abundantly clear, saying the improvements the team brought simply aren't enough to close the gap. He knows Ferrari has lost some pace relative to the front-runners over recent weekends, and minor tweaks won't solve that problem.

Interestingly, Lewis Hamilton has been singing a similar tune about Ferrari's situation. The seven-time world champion praised the Scuderia for their innovative approach this year and highlighted how Ferrari has often led the way with new concepts that competitors then follow. However, Hamilton also pointed out that Ferrari is down on power compared to their rivals, a deficit they'll have to carry through the rest of this season while planning a bigger push for 2026.

Ferrari's constructors' championship position is still looking healthy, sitting second with a 105-point cushion over McLaren and 112 points ahead of Red Bull Racing. But with the season entering its final stretch, Leclerc clearly feels the team needs to bring meaningful upgrades rather than settling for marginal gains. The message from their lead driver is unmistakable: the current development trajectory isn't going to deliver championships, and Ferrari needs to step up their game now.
