Lewis Hamilton's Ferrari Power Struggle Could Cost Him a Championship, Warns Expert

Lewis Hamilton's relationship with Ferrari is starting to look a bit dodgy, and insiders reckon it could derail his championship bid before it even gets going. The seven-time champion has been ignoring his pit wall's strategic calls in recent races, and it's not ending well. In Malaysia he rejected Ferrari's intermediate tyre call, which somehow worked out with a P3 finish. But Singapore told a different story, when Hamilton refused to pit under the virtual safety car, finished on worn softs, and ended up sixth instead of on the podium.

Other observers are picking up on the tension brewing at Maranello. Ralf Schumacher reckons there's friction brewing because Hamilton wants to run things his own way. The 41-year-old even sent private documents to Ferrari's senior management since arriving last year. Bernie Collins suspects Hamilton just doesn't trust the team's strategy calls based on how he's been overruling them. But the real alarm bells are ringing for his championship hopes.

Alex Jacques laid it out pretty bluntly, saying if Hamilton keeps going rogue, he'll end up in the same boat as Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso, world champions who never won another title with the Scuderia. Jacques emphasized that Ferrari's got a car capable of double podiums right now, and what they actually need is better communication between pit wall and driver. The team's strategy department has improved, but they've got to sell the plan properly and sometimes give direct orders.

Here's the thing though, Ferrari's got all the data and understanding at their disposal. When the numbers are that stark, they need to step in. Jacques pointed out that the great champions who've won at Ferrari didn't go off doing their own thing, they worked with the full team unit. Hamilton's got until the end of this season and beyond to figure it out. He's currently third in the standings, 111 points behind leader Kimi Antonelli, with a contract stretching to 2028. But without trust between driver and team, that eighth world title is going to stay out of reach.
