Charles Leclerc Getting Stroller Practice in Before Becoming a Dad

Charles Leclerc's got a big life change coming up. The Ferrari driver is about to become a father with his wife Alexandra Saint Mleux, and he's already getting his hands on some essential parenting gear. During a recent break after the tripleheader, Leclerc headed to Tuscany with family and friends, and he couldn't resist documenting his preparation for the new chapter ahead. On Instagram, he posted about celebrating his birthday and joked that his first practice session with a stroller went surprisingly well.

Leclerc's joining a growing club of F1 drivers balancing fatherhood with their racing careers. Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso have both experienced the juggling act of welcoming children while competing at the highest level of motorsport. The Monegasque driver's been busy with both family time and F1 commitments, heading from his Tuscan getaway straight to the United States Grand Prix this weekend.

Away from the baby talk, Leclerc's also got his focus firmly on Ferrari's performance. After finishing second in Singapore behind Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing, he's been honest about where the Scuderia stands compared to the competition. He acknowledged that while the team brought some new parts to the car that helped them make progress, it's simply not enough to close the gap to the front runners. Leclerc made it clear Ferrari needs to keep pushing and introducing fresh upgrades if they're going to get themselves back into genuine title contention.

His teammate Lewis Hamilton shares the same assessment. The seven-time world champion has previously noted that Mercedes know they're down on power relative to their rivals and will have to accept that deficit for the remainder of this season. However, Hamilton remains optimistic that the car continues improving and upcoming races might give them the chance to get a bit closer to the leaders before the campaign wraps up.
