Here's something pretty remarkable that's about to happen. Tom Clarkson, the veteran F1 presenter who's been a fixture in the paddock for nearly three decades, will miss the Bahrain Grand Prix for the first time since 1998. He's unavoidably away on other business with 1996 world champion Damon Hill, which means an incredible streak comes to an end. Clarkson's been at pretty much every race for almost 30 years, so this is genuinely a rare occurrence in the F1 world.

Now for the Aston Martin news that'll get fans talking. Chief technical officer Enrico Cardile has confirmed the AMR27 will be a completely new car for 2027, marking a significant departure from the current AMR26. The Aston Martin has only scored three points so far this season, all thanks to Fernando Alonso, so they're clearly ready for a major reset. Cardile did hint that design legend Adrian Newey isn't locked into the current development direction either, despite the AMR27 being expected to evolve from the AMR26 concept.

Over at Cadillac, new team principal Marcin Budkowski has revealed they're mostly shifting focus to 2027 now rather than chasing points in the remainder of this season. It's not ideal news for Sergio Perez, who expressed disappointment at the team's lack of progress recently, but Budkowski's hinted there's still hope for the current campaign. Cadillac had been battling Aston Martin at the back of the grid before the Brit squad introduced their improved chassis and Honda's upgraded power unit.
