One rumor that's been doing the rounds is that the French driver would jump over to the World Endurance Championship and land a drive with Toyota. Well, GPblog's got the inside track, and it turns out that's complete nonsense.

According to reliable sources, Toyota's got their lineup locked in for the WEC next season and there's simply no room for Ocon. The Japanese manufacturer's current squad of Mike Conway, Kamui Kobayashi, Nyck de Vries, Sebastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley, and Ryo Hirakawa will stick around. They're absolutely dominating the championship too, running first and second in the title fight. Toyota's not about to shake things up with that kind of success.

As for Ocon's actual options in Formula 1 itself, honestly, it's pretty bleak. There's basically nothing on the market. Racing Bulls haven't confirmed their 2027 lineup yet, but Ocon isn't in the picture there. The only realistic F1 path forward would be a reserve driver gig, and only Cadillac haven't announced their third driver setup so far. Mercedes getting him as a reserve driver? Nope, that's off the table as well. They've already got Frederik Vesti sorted for that job.

So where does that leave the guy? Well, if Ocon does somehow land a WEC seat in the coming months, it definitely won't be with Toyota. The grid's getting sorted for 2027 and it's not looking great for one of the more experienced names in the paddock right now.
