Lando Norris has done it again. The McLaren driver locked down pole position for Formula 1's maiden visit to Madrid's Madring circuit, leaving championship leader Kimi Antonelli to settle for second on the grid. It's another brilliant qualifying performance from Norris, who's clearly in the zone this season and showing no signs of slowing down.

Antonelli, fresh off his Italian Grand Prix victory last week, qualified second in his Mercedes. Right behind them on row two, we've got Max Verstappen in his Red Bull and Lewis Hamilton in a Ferrari, setting up what should be a proper scrap for the opening corners. The top runners are bunched up tight, and that's exactly the kind of battle we live for.

Charles Leclerc and George Russell claimed the third row in fifth and sixth respectively, with Oscar Piastri and Liam Lawson rounding out the top eight. Franco Colapinto and Arvid Lindblad completed the Q3 finishers, meaning both Audis, including Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto, fell just short of the shootout.

Down the order, things got spicy with the local heroes. Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso, both Spanish legends, wound up on the ninth row, which has to sting a bit at home. Meanwhile, Lance Stroll received an engine change penalty that dropped him down the order, while Oliver Bearman also missed qualifying entirely. Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas make up the tenth row in their Cadillacs.
