Mercedes weren't alone in bringing fresh hardware to Madring. Ferrari, still hunting for a win since Charles Leclerc's British Grand Prix triumph, introduced a rear suspension update described as a small fairing profile change that redistributes loading along the wing. McLaren sharpened their rear wing package after Lando Norris bagged recent victories in Hungary and the Netherlands. Red Bull focused on reliability matters with revised rear wheel bodywork and floor bib modifications, continuing development work from Monza.

Further down the grid, Alpine added an extra forward floor element while Cadillac, the only pointless team this season, brought two fresh pieces including a new rear wing flap and diffuser vane. Ferrari's had filming day experience at Madring from July testing, giving them a small advantage heading into F1's first competitive outing at the venue.
