Ollie Bearman's been brutally honest about Lewis Hamilton's Ferrari revival, and it's easy to see why. The 21-year-old Haas driver has spent his whole career eyeing a move to Maranello, but Hamilton's dramatic 2026 turnaround has complicated that dream in a big way. Just last season Hamilton struggled badly at Ferrari, finishing sixth without any podiums and sitting 96 points behind Charles Leclerc. Now though, the seven-time champ's found his rhythm, grabbed a win in Barcelona, and landed four more podiums.

Speaking on the Beyond the Grid podcast, Bearman admitted it's "pretty cool" to see Hamilton firing on all cylinders again. He was genuinely chuffed watching the Brit take the top step in Barcelona alongside fellow British drivers Lando Norris and George Russell, calling it something special for British motorsport. But here's the kicker, for his own Ferrari ambitions it's anything but ideal. Bearman's stuck in a tricky spot. He's been a Ferrari junior since 2021 and earned his Haas seat partly off the back of an impressive performance filling in for Carlos Sainz at Saudi Arabia back in 2024.

The good news for Bearman is he knows he's got time on his side. He's only 21 and determined not to waste his best years sitting on the sidelines waiting for a Ferrari seat that might never open up. "I don't want to be sitting around for three, four, five years waiting for a seat to become available," he explained. His ultimate goal is straightforward, if a bit selfish as he admits, to fight for world championships wherever that opportunity comes first.

For now, staying at Haas gives him room to learn and develop, even if the team's been struggling in the midfield. Bearman's clearly outperforming veteran teammate Esteban Ocon on points, but progress has slowed since his impressive 2025 campaign that included a fourth-place finish in Mexico. He's banking on the team improving and on his own performances keeping him sharp for whenever a genuine championship-fighting seat becomes available. Whether that's Ferrari or somewhere else entirely remains to be seen.
