The rest of the grid spread out behind the frontrunners. Kimi Antonelli held fifth for Mercedes ahead of Lando Norris in sixth for McLaren, so it's shaping up to be a proper fight between the big three teams. Arvid Lindblad grabbed seventh in his Racing Bulls, continuing to impress in the junior machinery, while Gabriel Bortoleto got his Audi into eighth.

Further back, the midfield looked properly competitive. Franco Colapinto and Paul Aron both got Alpine machinery into the points, though Colapinto edged ahead of his teammate. Carlos Sainz was down in sixteenth with Williams, still finding his feet with the new squad. Oscar Piastri's McLaren also showed plenty of room for improvement, sitting eleventh.
