Andrea Kimi Antonelli has secured his ninth Formula 1 victory at the Circuit of the Americas, but the Italian's triumph at the United States Grand Prix came with plenty of drama swirling around him. Antonelli crossed the line ahead of Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen in what turned out to be a thrilling contest that kept fans on the edge of their seats right until the final lap. Lewis Hamilton came agonisingly close to joining the podium party, finishing just a single second behind Verstappen in fourth place.

The race itself was a masterclass in strategy and overtaking, with multiple drivers hunting each other down as the laps wore on. Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen traded positions several times through the middle stint, with Leclerc briefly taking the lead before the Dutchman executed a brilliant defensive manoeuvre to hold position. Meanwhile, Antonelli controlled proceedings from the front, managing his pace expertly and making clean pit stops to keep the pressure on.
Lewis Hamilton's day got complicated when Ferrari brought him in for a tactical stop, switching him to hard tyres in an attempt to salvage a strong result. The seven-time champion clawed his way back into contention and even snatched the fastest lap at one point, but the mathematics simply didn't work out for a podium finish. Oscar Piastri and George Russell rounded out the top six, though Russell had to deal with a five-second penalty during his stint.

Elsewhere, things got messy for several competitors. Valtteri Bottas suffered an engine problem that forced him to stop on track, bringing out a virtual safety car that shook up the running order. Isack Hadjar encountered energy deployment issues and was clearly frustrated with the situation, whilst Oliver Bearman picked up a ten-second penalty for a collision with Pierre Gasly. McLaren also had an off day with pit stop issues affecting Lando Norris' race.
